Faculty of Social Sciences at the University of Bergen is welcoming applications for two full-time permanent tenured positions as Associate Professors in Administration and Organization Theory.

 

The Department of Administration and Organization Theory combines political science with an organizational approach to public policy, public administration, and political institutions. Applicants are advised to consult and make themselves familiar with the teaching and research profile of the department.


The University of Bergen seeks dedicated researchers, university supervisors and teachers with the skills necessary to collaborate, strengthen the department’s research programs and teaching portfolio. Personal aptitude will be important for the positions. Qualifications and personal qualities: 

  • A PhD in political science, public administration or other social sciences, with relevance for the department’s profile.
  • Applicants must display an ability to publish research at a high international level beyond their PhD dissertation.
  • Well documented progress in research and publication and plans for future research and publication are desirable.
  • The assessment of the applicant’s scientific work will focus primarily on research published during the last five years.
  • Experience in initiating, managing and operating major externally funded research projects is desirable.
  • Basic pedagogical training is a requirement for the position. The successful applicant will be offered training if this requirement has not been met prior to employment

  • Five publications to be considered in the assessment, with information about where this work was published. The evaluation of the applicant’s scientific work will focus primarily on research published in the last five years.
  • A complete list of publications.
  • Declarations of co-authorships.
  • Teaching portfolio.
  • Certified copies of diplomas and certificates.
  • The contact details of two references.
