The Wales Centre for Public Policy at Cardiff University is seeking to appoint an outstanding senior researcher to undertake and publish leading-edge research on knowledge mobilisation and evidence used by governments and public services.

JOB TITLE: Research Fellow
DEADLINE: 6 July 2018
SALARY: £41,212 - £47,722 per annum (Grade 7)
LOCATION: WCPP Office, 10/12 Museum Place, Cardiff

The post offers a unique opportunity to focus full time on research in order to advance the theory and practice of knowledge mobilisation and evidence use. The research will draw on the Centre’s work with government and public services and has the potential to make a very significant contribution to the academic literature.

The Centre is funded by the Economic and Social Research Council and Welsh Government.  It works directly with ministers, senior civil servants and public service leaders to co-create, synthesise and mobilise knowledge and evidence from social science research that can help to address economic and social challenges.

The successful candidate will join the Centre’s Management Team and work with other senior colleagues to contribute to its strategic development and direction.

This is a full-time research position of 35 hours a week and is available from 1st September 2018 for four years in the first instance with the possibility of renewal thereafter subject to the availability of funding.

The Centre will consider proposals for a long-term secondment to the post.

For further information and informal discussion about the post please contact Professor Steve Martin (Director of the Wales Centre for Public Policy) via steve.martin@wcpp.org.uk or Professor James Downe (Director of Research) at james.downe@wcpp.org.uk
