international graduate summer school on The Theory and Practice of Gender Mainstreaming

Concordia University is proud to introduce its first International Graduate Summer School on The Theory and Practice of Gender Mainstreaming, held at its downtown campus in Montreal, Quebec. Led by Drs. Stephanie Paterson and Francesca Scala.

Governments, international organizations and community groups are increasingly engaging in gender and intersectional analysis in the development of their policies and programs. This five-day workshop will provide students with an opportunity to learn from leading gender mainstreaming scholars in Canada and abroad and to develop practical skills in high demand areas of expertise: gender-based analysis (GBA+), gender-budgeting and the gender-results framework. Students will also critically engage with conceptual debates surrounding GBA+, including intersectionality, cultural competence and colonialism, and methodology. The summer school is open to graduate students in all fields!

The faculty and experts include Dr. Olena Hankivsky, (University of Melbourne), Dr. Kathleen Lahey (Queen's University) and Dr. Kate Bezanson (Brock University). Other scholars and experts will be announced soon.

Date: July 22-26

Location: Concordia University downtown campus in Montreal, Quebec.
