The Graduate School of Governance (GSG) at Sungkyunkwan University is one of South Korea’s most influential education institutes and research centers in the field of public administration and policy. Sungkyunkwan University, established in 1398, is renown for being the oldest institute for higher education and training of public administrators and the Graduate School of Governance is ensuring that legacy through the transition of the paradigm from administration to governance. The GSG ranks among the elite in various indicators, such as: the scope and depth of courses offered; research performance of faculty members and students; academic and practical impacts of research outputs; and successful employment of its graduates in influential posts. It has fostered leaders and experts serving in government, corporations, universities, media, and civic organizations. The GSG offers diverse academic tracks, including: PhD program, academic master's program, executive master's program, global master of public administration (GMPA) program, and international distant learning modules. Every year, 70 domestic students and more than 20 foreign students - especially from developing countries in Africa, Asia, and South America - are admitted to GSG programs.
