Duties and Responsibilities
The Department of Political Science would like to recruit an Associate Professor or Lecturer in Public Policy. The new Lecturer or Associate Professor will be expected to undertake public policy research of the highest international standard, teach undergraduate and postgraduate public policy courses and take on organizational citizenship duties in an exciting and fast-growing Department.
Applications from candidates engaging in research on all areas of public policy are welcome. The Department is particularly interested in candidates undertaking research from a Political Science perspective on a substantive policy area – for instance education policy, health policy, social policy, climate policy, technology and artificial intelligence – or on approaches to public policy, such as policy evaluation and behavioural public policy.
The post will commence on the 1st July 2020.
Key Requirements
The successful candidate must have a PhD in Political Science or related subject (candidates nearing completion may be considered).
A proven ability to undertake academic research that is internationally recognised and of high-quality or evidence of potential for high quality academic research and experience teaching public policy modules, ideally at both undergraduate and postgraduate levels are essential.
Candidates seeking to be appointed at the Associate Professor (grade 9) level are expected to demonstrate that they have more significant experience and/or have made a substantial contribution to the advancement of their discipline through research.
