GENERAL OBJECTIVES, RESEARCH QUESTIONS AND SCIENTIFIC RELEVANCE
This panel will explore the meaning and significance of public policy cases for teaching, research and for showcasing practice. It will highlight the meanings of case study based method, its importance in the context of the overwhelming attention to multi methods research, its relevance in the context of quantitative methods and its significance to concept building, comparative approaches and as a qualitative pedagogy and method.
CALL FOR PAPERS
We invite papers to explain and highlight how they use the case based method to undertake teaching, research, and showcase their practice. What does a case mean in your area of interest? How do you create, use and apply the insights from the cases in your area of interest? What kinds of insights does it provide that are distinct from multi methods research? How do you teach a case and what learning outcomes do you expect from such a method? This panel will seek to explore these questions, among many others not mentioned in this call, with a focus to highlight the relevance, importance and possibilities of case based methodology and research.
