Hello! I am a former Government of Canada civil servant who is now a professor of public policy at Michigan Technological University located on Michigan's Upper Peninsula. When I am not digging out of 300 inches (750 cm) of snow, I conduct a variety of public policy research, including investigating policy innovation labs, policy capacity, the role of causal mechanisms in policy process theories, public value theory, neo-institutional approaches to policy change, and climate change adaptation. I am also an associate editor with Policy Sciences. My motivation to serve as a member of the IPPA College is twofold. First, I would like to promote US membership which remains underrepresented in the IPPA, including the College. This is an untapped area for growth in the IPPA. Promoting the research that IPPA members conduct and making it relevant to policy-makers and practitioners is my second motivation. I look forward to working with this fine policy organization to achieve those goals. Follow me on Twitter @amwellstead
