Kiran Kumar Gowd

I am Gowd Kiran Kumar, a young research scholar at the Department of Political Science, University of Hyderabad. I am working on food security and Governance issues. My primary research areas include public policy, Governance, sustainable development, and politics of welfare schemes. Apart from being a researcher, I am also an activist involved in social movements to promote diversity in higher educational institutions in India. I participated in the ICPP-IPPA Singapore in 2017, Montreal in 2019, and IWPP 3 Budapest in 2022. I shared my research work at the events and obtained valuable insights that helped my Ph.D. thesis immensely. Attending pre-conferences and other conference panels widened my research areas of interest. Moreover, IPPA has allowed me to build academic networks and friends worldwide. From my experiences at the previous IPPA events, I am convinced that the association is an excellent platform for young scholars and academics from Global South to present their research works and get valuable suggestions and inputs to tune their results for publication. Membership in the college offers me sizable scope to expand IPPA's reach to academic institutions in the global south and offer academics and young scholars to utilize the global platform to advance their work and career. Membership to the IPPA college carries specific responsibilities, which I will deliver properly, and in the process, it will also contribute to furthering my future career in academia.
