I recently joined the University of Twente as Assistant Professor of Public Administration and Policy Science. Prior to that, my Covid-19 experience involved doing a postdoctoral fellowship in Global Refugee Policy at Carleton University’s Faculty of Public Affairs in Canada. I hold a Ph.D. from the Lee Kuan Yew School of Public Policy at the National University of Singapore (2019), and an M.A. in Public Policy and Administration from the School of Global Affairs and Public Policy at the American University in Cairo (2010). I am also a founding member of the Association for Middle Eastern Public Policy and Administration (AMEPPA). In 2020, I founded the Women in Public Policy International Network in 2020, which currently has over 300 members worldwide. I would like to become a member of the College of the Association to achieve my vision of advancing the policy sciences to make it more inclusive and diverse. I recently published with Policy Sciences on the state of public policy education in the Global South, and hope to continue, together with colleagues, to push the boundaries of the field for future generations. When not doing policy, I am an avid fan of archaeology and design.
