Maria Proestou

I did my PhD in institutional economics and social phychology at Humboldt University of Berlin and I have been doing research and lecturing on environmental and sustainability policy since 2015. Currently, I am working on bioeconomy policy implementation and the role of the state as head of a junior research group of the Agricultural and Food Policy Group at Humboldt University. My research and particularly my experience and interest in policy design, problematization, and implementation made me familiar with the IPPA and its work. Through my participation in conferences and workshops (e.g. IWPP3 Workshop 2022), I came to appreciate the critical policy approach of the association. Recently, the IPPA together with the Critical Policy Studies Network supported me and my colleague Frank Fischer in realizing the CPN Conference "Governing in an Age of Multicrises: Policy Learning from Climate, Food, and Covid Politics". Our conference is published on the IPPA website as an event. As a IPPA college member, I would have the opportunity to extend my network and deepen my knowledge of policy topics, concepts, and approaches. Finally, I would be happy to cooperate with other scholars to reflect on and further develop the IPPA work, ideas, and goals.
