Many experiences like car sharing, car pooling or bicycle in free access show that mobility seems to be faced to fundamental changes. These changes benefit from technological innovations (like new phone services), the rise of environmental concerns, a new relationship with time and space which allow individuals to adapt their mobility behavior. These new possibilities induce huge modifications of how to travel that have a direct effect on public policies. They require new skills and approaches to design the transport system. Those changes point out the need to question public policies on the following topics: How does transport policy integrate dimensions like economics, politics, planning, energy, information? How can transport policy be in favor of mobility innovation? How can and does transport policy take into account the territorial as well as educational particularities of the populations concerned by those policies? What kind of tensions arises from the confrontation between new mobility behavior and traditional public policies? The subject of the present panel proposition is to find answers to these questions.

The aim of this panel is to identifiy and analyse the tensions that may arise from the confrontation between new mobility behaviors and traditional transport policies. Changes in the way that people travel require new skills and approaches to design the transport system  : how do transport policies take into account these changes ?
