The Indian Institute of Management Ahmedabad (IIMA) is a premier management school in India. Its graduate programs in business administration are consistently ranked high, internationally. The Public Systems Group (PSG) is a constituent department that focuses on interdisciplinary research and teaching in areas related to public policy, management, and administration. Currently, PSG faculty conduct research in the domains of energy and climate change, environment and sustainability, urban management, transportation, education, community development, and health. We invite applications at the Assistant Professor, Associate Professor and Professor levels from candidates specializing in the field of public health systems and policy. We encourage candidates with any research interest within public health to apply. Relevant focus areas include, for example, government health systems design and policy formulation, primary health care delivery, community health and social medicine, health inequality, socio-economic and environmental determinants of health, epidemiology, etc.

Candidates must have a Ph.D. in health policy, public policy, urban planning, political science, sociology, or a related discipline with specialization in the public health domain. The selected candidate is expected to pursue high quality research and publish in international peer-reviewed journals. In addition to offering courses on health policy and related subjects, the candidate must be able to teach core courses offered by PSG, such as government systems and processes, public policy, public management, and public finance. 

IIMA offers generous funding support for faculty travel to national and international conferences. Faculty members also receive a professional development allowance every year. New faculty members are eligible for research start-up funding. The Institute has a system of internal research grants. The Institute rewards faculty members who publish in top journals.
