Founded in 1991, The Hong Kong University of Science and Technology (HKUST) is a world renowned international research university in Asia’s most vibrant city. The University comprises more than 500 faculty members whose research ranges from science to engineering, business, humanities and social sciences. Public Policy is one of the five new strategic areas identified by HKUST for its future development. The Division of Public Policy, under the Interdisciplinary Programs Office (IPO), has been recently established to spearhead this effort through the development of interdisciplinary policy research and rigorous policy training programs. We would like to invite applicants for faculty positions at Professor or Associate Professor rank. Successful candidates should have a relevant PhD degree and an outstanding track record of research, publication, and extramural funding in public policy. We will also consider applications for the rank of Assistant Professor from junior level candidates who demonstrate exceptional promise and potential. Teaching may be at the undergraduate and postgraduate levels.

We especially welcome applications in the following three areas: 1. Science and technology (innovation) policy; 2. Environmental, energy, and sustainability policy; and 3. Information and communications technology (ICT) policy and e-governance.

Salary is highly competitive and will be commensurate with qualifications and experience. Fringe benefits include annual leave, medical and dental benefits. Housing benefits will also be provided where applicable. A gratuity will be payable upon successful completion of contract for appointment on contract terms.
