"The book award committee took the classic gold standard that an intentionally excellent research monograph should be: field-defining, grounded in novel theory, empirically rich, and relevant for its findings. Taking into account this factors we found that Frank Baumgartner and Bryan Jones book the Politics of Information comes on top of these criteria. B&J centre their analysis on the US / their data span decades, the comparison is across policy topics, the results are very strong. One member of our committee defined this work “simply mind-boggling”. This book is hard to ignore: it will be a classic of this time period. I present the award tonight [to Frank Baumgartner and Bryan Jones] with the congratulations of the jury." Laura Chaqués-Bonafont - University of Barcelona and Institut d’Estudis Internacionals de Barcelona, Spain
