ABOUT THE CONFERENCE

The 2020 International Conference of the Philippine Public Policy Network (PPPN) comes after the inaugural conference successfully organized by the UP National College of Public Administration and Governance (UPNCPAG). The 2020 Conference is being co-organized and hosted by the Department of Political Science at UP Diliman and PPPN. As the country enters another decade, it is critical to re-examine and reflect on the
challenges and accomplishments that the Philippines has faced in the last decade and to also map out prospective issues and ways forward in the study and practice of public policy. What public policy issues and challenges lay ahead for the Philippines and for the region? What are the persistent and emerging trends in the study of public policy? What policy trajectories can the country anticipate in the coming years?
PPPN invites individual and panel presentation proposals as well as panel exhibit proposals that seek to explore, interrogate, and disseminate knowledge about the multidisciplinary field of public policy studies. It will also look at the lessons that can be learned by the Philippines from how the rest of Asia has managed to overcome the challenges facing the region and the rest of the world in the areas of managing the economy, strengthening public institutions, and fostering greater cooperation between government, the private sector, and civil society. The 2020 PPPN Conference intends showcase different public policy perspectives approaches for the benefit of all types of stakeholders – scholars, students, and practitioners alike.

The Philippine Public Policy Network (PPPN) and the University of the Philippines-Department of Political Science are now inviting proposals for individual, panel and poster presentations for the 2nd PPPN International Conference to be held on 8-9 October 2020.
