The GLOBAL INDIA ETN will deliver a world-class multi-sectoral doctoral training programme focused on India’s emergence as a global and regional power, and its relationship with the EU. The European Training Network is a multidisciplinary, multi-sectoral network bringing together six leading European universities, with six leading Indian universities, and six non-university partners. The network will train 15 Early Career Researchers, focusing on both academic excellence and professional, transferable, skills. All researchers will spend a semester in an Indian University and have a work placement in one of the non-university partners. In the four years of the programme there will be 10 network events in both Europe and India.
Two posts are to be filled :
• One PhD researcher position on “The diffusion of regulatory governance in India”
Analyses the shift in regulatory governance of the economy in India under the influence of international policy diffusion and the impacts of those changes.
The changing regulatory framework has implications for economic and trade relations with the EU.
• One PhD researcher position on “The making of EU foreign policy towards India”
This project provides a temporal analysis of key decisions in EU policy making towards India, identifying the dominant actors and their relative success in influencing policy outcomes. It discusses how important India is in EU strategic thinking and what shapes perception of India.
We are looking for motivated researchers with a Master’s degree in International Relations/Political Science/Public Policy or equivalent (early stage researcher) with excellent empirical and theoretical skills
as well as good team spirit.
ESR recruitment is also subject to the mobility rule. The applicant may be a national of a Member State, of an Associated Country or of any other third country. Also, the applicant must not have resided or
carried out his/her main activity (work, studies, etc.) in Spain for more than 12 months in the 3 years immediately prior to his/her recruitment. Short stays (e.g. holidays) are not taken into account.
Applicants who have obtained a doctorate or had more than 4 years full time research experience are ineligible. The ESR will ideally commence PhD enrolment / employment in October 2017.
