The main objective of the International Public Policy Association (IPPA) is to develop research in the field of public policy and to create an academic community across the world. It currently has 1000 members from 70 different countries and is composed of 22 international representatives of the College including 12 representatives of the Executive Committee.
The main activity will be organizing the International Conference on Public Policy (ICPP) which takes place every two years (Grenoble 2013 – 900 attendees; Milan 2015 – 1300 attendees, Singapore 2017 - still pending) where researchers on public policy from around the world are involved. Ever increasing, the Association has various ongoing and future projects to develop itself, such as Winter/Summer Schools on public policy for students, an academic review, books, etc. The purpose of the IPPA is also to offer resources on public policy to the international academic community through its website and newsletters (which are sent twice a month to more than 7 000 subscribers).
Intern responsibilities: The intern will help towards contributing to the development of the International Public Policy Association (IPPA) by working on:
Intern profile: The candidate will be well-organized, autonomous and have a keen interest in research and public policy.
Internship time period: September/October 2017 to January/February 2018.
Education level required: Master Student in Public Policy, Political Sciences or Social Sciences.
Languages requirement: English (fluent) – French (basic - not compulsory).
Administrative requirement: Tripartite intern agreement signed by the intern’s university, the intern and the IPPA (Eligibility Criteria: Intern has to be a student during the entire duration of the internship).
Allowance: Following the current French law, the allowance is around 515€/month (based on a 35h/week work time).
Other benefits: A 50% reimbursement on public transport costs (if applicable) and access to the ENTPE cafeteria (around 3-4 € / meal).
Accommodation: Possible access to student residences near the campus of ENTPE for the internship duration (rent: around 350 € dependent upon the apartment).
Internship location: Head office of the IPPA, located in ENTPE (State National School on Public Works), at LAET Laboratory (UMR CNRS), 2 rue Maurice Audin, 69120 Vaulx en Velin, France.
