The School of Public Policy (SPP) at Central European University, Vienna, invites applications for a full-time open rank (Assistant or Associate) position in Public Policy and Administration. The initial appointment is for six years, renewable as indefinite, after review.

Duties and responsibilities:
The successful candidate is expected to teach core and elective courses on the MA, and PhD level in the applied dimension of public policy and administration, to supervise MA, and PhD students, to publish in international outlets, and to participate in School initiatives. The full-time teaching load is 12 teaching credits (where one credit equals 50 minutes of classroom contact over a 12-week academic term), plus MA, and PhD thesis supervision. BA teaching may become a future responsibility.

 

Qualifications:
The candidate must have a PhD or equivalent in public policy and a proven record of excellence in scholarship.
Candidates should be able and willing to contribute to the administration and core teaching of the Applied Policy Project of the two-year Master of Public Administration and the Policy Labs of the one-year degree programs. Additional areas of teaching expertise in which the School is interested could include one of the following:

sustainability and climate change policy
European policy and politics
research methods, either qualitative or quantitative.
