Call for Papers 2026 Asia Pacific Public Policy Network (AP-PPN) Conference

“Innovating Public Policy for a Sustainable Asia-Pacific: Data, Technology, Trust and Resilience”

 

Dates: May 30-31, 2026

Location: Nankai University (NKU), Tianjin

Hosted by the Zhou Enlai School of Government (ZSG) at Nankai University (NKU) in Tianjin, China, the 2026 AP-PPN Conference will explore how public policy innovations, particularly those related to data science and emerging technology, can foster urban and rural sustainable development through various mechanisms such as trust-building and resilience.

 

The conference invites individual research papers and panel submissions from faculty members, practitioners, students, and independent researchers affiliated with AP-PPN and beyond. Comparative studies across the Asia-Pacific region and other global contexts are encouraged.

 

Papers and panels may address, but are not limited to, the following topics:

1. Public Policy Innovations Addressing Carbon and Environmental Footprints

2. Public Policy Innovations for Efficient and Inclusive Job Markets

3. Public Policy Innovations to Address the Epistemic & Ontological Biases in Artificial Intelligence

4. Regulatory and Institutional Innovations for Sustainable Development

5. Managing Risks through Policy Resilience

6. Innovating Public Policy Processes for High Quality Decision-making

7. Enhancing Public Policy Toolkits for Effective Policy Implementation

8. Public Policy Innovations and the role of Trust

 

Submission Guidelines:

· Please submit your paper abstracts and panel proposals by completing this  form: https://www.wenjuan.com/s/ERfEfaa/#

· Abstracts should be no longer than 300 words and must clearly outline the research question, methodology, and expected contributions to the field.

· For panel proposals, please submit a separate form for every paper in the panel. Each panel should consist of no more than 5 papers.

· The deadline for abstract submissions is Jan. 15, 2026. The AP-PPN steering committee and local organizing committee will review the abstracts and notify the selection results by email no later than Jan. 31, 2026.

· Final papers are due on April 5, 2026.
