CALL FOR PAPERS
5th International Workshops on Public Policy
July 6-8, 2026, Ottawa

The International Public Policy Association (IPPA) invites paper proposals for the forthcoming 5th International Workshops on Public Policy (IWPP5). 32 Workshops have been selected and will take place in Ottawa, Canada, from July 6 to 8, 2026.

The Call for Papers is currently open until January 20, 2026. The objective of these workshops is to allow 15-20 scholars per workshop to come together to hold in-depth discussions of papers on policy research issues to respond to their research questions. You can browse the list of 32 workshops to find the one that interests you the most. We advise you to read carefully its objectives and its Call for Papers to thoroughly understand the research questions raised by the workshop chairs.

Out of the 32 workshops, 3 will be exclusively online, while some will be hybrid and others will be held entirely onsite. Please read the descriptions of each workshop carefully. When you submit your paper proposal, you will need to specify whether it will be presented online or onsite.

To submit a paper, please follow these steps:

       1. Log in to your account (or create one if you haven't done so previously).
      2. Go to one of the 2 possible submission pages: the Workshop page and then click on "submit a paper", or alternatively, the list of workshops page, browse           the workshop you wish to send your proposal to, and click on "submit a paper for this workshop"
       3. Fill the form with the following information:

          1. The email addresses of the potential co-authors of your paper. Your co-authors must have created an account before you submit your proposal

          2. Choose or confirm your workshop choice from the list.

          3. Type in the title of your paper

          4. Add an abstract of the paper (300 to 500 words) explaining the project, research question, methodology, and how it fits with the workshop's research                  question.

          5. Please also specify at the end of the abstract if you consider presenting on-site or online

Please note that you can only submit one paper proposal for IWPP5. Each participant chooses and attends one workshop during the 3 days of the event. Also, note that it is not possible to submit a paper proposal to two different workshops.

The final list of selected paper proposals will be announced on February 04, 2026.

Once your paper proposal is selected by the workshop chairs, you will need to confirm your participation by registering for the workshops. Following your registration, you will be asked to upload the full paper - via your user account on the IPPA website - by June 1, 2026.
