The call for papers is now open
The call for papers for the 5th International Workshops on Public Policy is open until January 20, 2026. IWPP5 will take place in Ottawa from 6 to 8 July 2026. We selected 32 workshops that cover different topics and research questions in the Public Policy field. The purpose of these workshops is to allow 15-20 scholars per workshop to come together and hold in-depth discussions of papers on public policy research issues during 3 days.
A total of 29 workshops will take place on-site, with the option to present your paper and participate in the sessions online. Due to the limited number of hybrid seminar rooms, only the workshops with a sufficient number of online participants will be offered a hybrid format. Additionally, 3 workshops will be exclusively online.
Please browse the list of workshops to find the workshop to which your paper proposal belongs.
To participate in one of these workshops, you need to submit an abstract of your paper, which will be reviewed by the workshop chairs. Your paper proposal should address the research questions outlined in the description of the workshop you are interested in. Please note that, due to the event format (which does not allow parallel workshops), applicants may submit only one paper across all workshops.
Your abstract must contain a maximum of 500 words and should clearly explain your research questions, how they contribute to the broader goals of the workshop, your methodology, and any other relevant details that support your project. If selected, you will need to confirm your participation by registering and submit your full research paper by June 1, 2026 to be uploaded on our website.
Submit your paper. You have two options:
If you know the workshop in which you want to submit your paper proposal, go to the IWPP5 page and click on “submit a paper” at the top of the left-hand menu.
Alternatively, you can also browse the list of workshops, identify the workshop that interests you, and either click on the "+" icon or on the “submit a paper for this workshop” button inside its description
Fill the form with the following information:
Please note that you can only submit one paper. Each participant chooses and attends one workshop where they will present their paper during the 3 days of the event. You cannot submit a paper proposal to two different workshops.
The selection of the papers for each workshop will start with the end of the call for papers (January 20). The authors of selected papers will be notified on February 4. If your proposal is selected, full papers are to be uploaded to the IPPA website no later than June 1. To confirm your participation and benefit from the lowest fees, we invite you to register as soon as possible after receiving the result. You can also find the result of the evaluation by logging in to your IPPA account, under the "My papers" tab.
