Arriving via Paris Charles de Gaulle Airport (CDG)

For participants travelling from outside Europe, Paris Charles de Gaulle Airport (CDG) is the recommended gateway to Rennes. As one of Europe's largest international airports, CDG offers direct flights from major cities worldwide.

Participants have two main options to continue their journey to Rennes:

Option 1 – Direct TGV train from Paris CDG (recommended)

The easiest option is to take a high-speed TGV train directly from Paris Charles de Gaulle Airport to Rennes. The train station is located inside the airport, allowing international travelers to transfer easily without travelling into central Paris. Direct trains operate several times per day (3 direct trains and 10 trains including connections), with a journey time of approximately 2 hours and 30 minutes.

Option 2 – Via Paris Montparnasse Train Station

Participants who wish to spend time in Paris before or after the conference, or who prefer additional train options, can travel from Paris Montparnasse Train Station.

From Paris Charles de Gaulle Airport, Montparnasse station can be reached:

  • by taxi, in approximately 45–60 minutes depending on traffic and costs around €60-65;
  • by public transportation (RER B train to Central Paris, which then connects with the metro to reach the train station) in approximately 50–60 minutes for €14.

From Paris Montparnasse, frequent direct (approx. 20 direct connections per day) TGV trains connect Paris and Rennes in approximately 1 hour and 30 minutes.

Rennes by Train

Rennes is directly connected to France's high-speed railway network (TGV), making train travel a convenient, comfortable, and more sustainable option for participants travelling from France and other European countries.

The main railway station is called “Rennes” on SNCF Connect and other train booking platforms. The station is easily connected to downtown Rennes by metro, bus, taxi, or on foot.

From Paris

Paris is the main railway gateway to Rennes. Direct TGV trains from Paris Montparnasse to Rennes run throughout the day, with approximately 20 connections per day and a journey time of around 1 hour and 30 minutes.

From other French and European cities

Rennes can be easily reached by train from many major French cities (including Nantes, Lille, Lyon, Bordeaux or Marseille), often with a connection in Paris or another major railway hub.

For participants travelling from Europe, train travel can also be a convenient alternative to flying. Rennes can be reached by combining international high-speed services (such as Eurostar or connections through Belgium and Paris) with French TGV trains. Major European cities such as London, Brussels, Amsterdam, and Geneva can be connected to Rennes with one or two train changes.

Train tickets and schedules are available through the official French railway website
