Nordic Public Policy Network Meeting and Workshop: Östersund, 26-27 January 2027

The Nordic Public Policy Network (NPPN) invites policy scholars to its next gathering at Mid Sweden University in Östersund on 26-27 January 2027. The workshop continues the series of policy process workshops held at Luleå University of Technology in January 2024 and 2025, which brought together scholars from across the Nordic region and beyond and laid the groundwork for the network.

The first day is a full day of presentations and discussion on public policy research in and about the Nordic countries. In addition to discussion of early drafts for a special issue on Taking Democracy Seriously in Policy Process Research, to be published in the FORUM section of the International Review of Public Policy, we welcome any papers relevant to the Nordic context. We will close with a network business meeting, where members will discuss the network’s direction, funding and future activities.

The second day is dedicated to PhD students and early career researchers, with sessions focused on methodology in public policy research. The day is meant as a supportive space to learn, exchange ideas and build lasting connections.

We would like to extend a special welcome to Oliver Meza and Reimut Zohlnhöfer, friends of the network that are attending the event, and Chris Weible, one of the founders who is attending as well.
