Purpose of the Summer School: Policy Dynamics and Effectiveness

The summer school titled "Policy Dynamics and Effectiveness" is designed for PhD students interested in exploring cutting-edge research on public policy. The program will feature leading experts, including:

      • Andy Jordan is a specialist in environmental policy design and action from the Tyndall Centre for Climate Change Research at East Anglia University.  He will address the comparative perspectives and methods to approach climate change policy portfolios and governing ecosystem-based management and processes in the European Union, its Member States, and countries outside of Europe.
      • Anat Gofen from the Federmann School of Public Policy at the Hebrew University of Jerusalem is renowned for her policy design and implementation insights.  She will unfold the reciprocal relationships between policymaking and social change. Her research emphasizes an upward perspective on policymaking, which emphasizes a more complex perspective on the relationship between the design and implementation of policy.
      • Andrea Pettrachin, from the Department of Political Science, Law, and International Studies at the University of Padua, is an expert in immigration policies and brings valuable perspectives on global and regional policy challenges. His research mainly focuses on migration policy and governance across different governmental levels. He is particularly interested in policy formulation and adoption in the migration policy field, as well as the interlinks between policymaking processes and politicization dynamics in the field of migration.

This engaging academic experience will give participants a comprehensive understanding of policy dynamics and tools for assessing policy effectiveness.
