How to get there

Berkeley's strategic location in the heart of the San Francisco Bay Area provides convenient transportation connections with major cities such as San Francisco, Oakland, and San Jose. The city is easily accessible by various modes of transportation.

For those arriving by air, the closest airports to Berkeley are Oakland International Airport (OAK), San Francisco International Airport (SFO). From these airports, travelers can take shuttles, taxis, or rental cars to reach Berkeley.

Additionally, Berkeley is well-connected by major highways, including Interstate 80 and Interstate 580, making it easily accessible by car from neighboring cities and regions. From San Francisco, Berkeley is just a short drive across the iconic Bay Bridge.

From the airport to the accommodation.

You can take the BART (Bay Area Rapid Transit):

  • For $11, it takes 1 hour and 15 minutes from San Francisco
  • For $9, it takes 50 minutes from Oakland

You can also take a taxi. It takes 35 minutes from San Francisco and 25 minutes from Oakland. The approximate cost for San Francisco is $165 and for Oakland is $110.

Public transportation within Berkeley is efficient and convenient, with the AC Transit bus system providing extensive coverage throughout the city and connecting it to neighboring communities.
