The School of Social Sciences (SOSS), Singapore Management University, invites
applications for a tenure-track position in Public Policy at the rank of Assistant
Professor.

The ideal candidate is one who conducts innovative research in topics related to
comparative public policy, public administration, or global governance, and who can
teach introductory as well as special-topic elective courses in public policy that will
contribute towards the SOSS Public Policy and Public Management (PPPM) second

The successful candidate will display a record of, or high potential for, scholarly
research, as well as demonstrated teaching aptitude in Public Policy topics. The
position requires a doctorate in Public Policy, Public Administration, Political Science,
or a closely related field.

Singapore Management University is a research university committed to an
interdisciplinary and integrated curriculum, providing opportunities to work with
faculty across the social sciences. The research support is excellent and salary and
benefits are highly competitive. The teaching load is comparable to other research
universities, and typically, junior faculty receive a 3-course per year teaching load for
their first contract.

Full evaluation of applications will start 16 September 2019. Only shortlisted
candidates will be notified for interviews, which will begin in October 2019. The
successful candidate will be expected to start at Singapore Management University
in July 2020. All hires are contingent upon the successful completion of a background
check.

The application package should be in electronic form and include: (1) a cover letter
describing research and teaching interests, (2) a curriculum vitae (including teaching
experience and a list of referees), (3) a professional writing sample, and (4) evidence
of teaching effectiveness (such as teaching evaluations).
